Rumor: Diet plays a role in developing breast cancer.
Truth: This is true. Several studies have suggested that certain foods and beverages could worsen inflammatory effects that are linked to the development of cancers and metabolic syndrome.
These foods include refined carbohydrates such as bread, pastries, fried foods, red meat, and margarine.
A study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that breast cancer symptoms worsened amongst individuals that had poorer dietary habits, creating carcinogenesis. These findings lead researchers to conclude that we should consider diet as a factor in the development of breast cancers.
