Rumour: A high-fat version of the Mediterranean diet will increase body weight.

Truth: This is false. Although it is believed that any fat is bad for your health, an unrestricted-calorie, high-fat Mediterranean diet (with an abundance of vegetable oil or nuts) will not increase body weight. Following a 5-year study, there was no change weight change from start to end in participants who were on an unrestricted-calorie, high-fat Mediterranean diet.
