(1886) The first batch of the soda pop Coca-Cola is brewed by John Pemberton in a backyard in Atlanta.

(1920) Canadian medical geneticist Clarke Fraser is born. He is known for helping to bridge the gap between medicine and genetics, and for contributing to genetic counseling.

(1927)  English pharmacologist John Vane is born. He is known for contributing to the understanding of how aspirin provides pain relief and reduces inflammation.
