May 9th:

(1) (1893) American psychologist, lawyer, inventor, and comic book writer William Moulton Marston was born. Along with creating the character Wonder Woman, he is also remembered for creating the systolic blood pressure test.

(2) (1944) The first ever Eye Bank (where eyes are stored for cornea transplants and research) opened in New York.

(3) (1960) The USA became the first country to legalize the use of the birth control pill.
