(1) (1914) Austrian-born British molecular biologist Max Perutz was born. He shared the Nobel Prize in 1962 for his work on the structures of hemoglobin and myoglobin

(2) (1950) The New York Times reports on the World’s smallest and dumbest mechanical brain.

(3) (1971) Estonian biologist and biochemist Andres Salumets was born. His research focuses on embryos and human fertility, and he is a Member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
