(1) (1896) Czech-American biochemist and pharmacologist Carl Ferdinand Cori is born. He shared the 1947 Nobel Prize for his discovery of glycogen is broken down and resynthesized in the body, as part of the process for its use as a storage and source of energy.
(2) (1901) American psychiatrist and psychologist Milton H. Erickson is born. His research focused on family therapy and hypnosis.
