Today In Medical History – April 24

(1923) The paper Das Ich und das Es (The Ego and the Id) is published. Sigmund Freud, the author, describes his theories of the subconscious and of the id, ego, and super-ego.

(1947) American biochemist Roger David Kornberg is born. He won the  Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2006 for his work on how DNA is copied into RNA.

(1948) Ecuadorian-American psychiatrist, therapist Eliana Gil is born. She has written on a number of topics including child abuse, family play therapy, art therapy, and other areas of psychotherapy.
