Ideal Weight Calculator

The Ideal Weight Calculator uses your gender and height to determine what your ideal weight should be. An ideal weight is an estimate of how much you should weigh to be considered “healthy”. It is important to know your ideal weight because being of a healthy weight can protect you from a number of diseases, including many types of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and depression. It is important to eat right, exercise regularly, and avoid smoking and alcohol in order to be as healthy as possible to reduce the risk of diseases.

Our Ideal Weight Calculator calculates your ideal weight by using the D. R. Miller formula:
– for women: 53.1 kg + 1.36 kg per inch over 5 feet
– for men: 56.2 kg + 1.41 kg per inch over 5 feet
The D. R. Miller formula is one of many equations that can be used to calculate your ideal weight, but it is one of the more recently-developed formulas and is said to produce reliable estimates for both males and females of average heights (the formula is not recommended for extremely tall men).

Along with your calculated ideal weight, we have provided a healthy weight range that is recommended for your height, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO recommends that individuals maintain a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 24.9 in order to be healthy. Using your height, and the healthy BMI range provided by WHO, we have calculated the optimal weight range you should be in to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
