The Grape Seed Rumour

Rumour: Grape seed extract is not beneficial for vascular health

Truth: This is false.

According to a review published in the Nutrition Journal, supplements containing Masquelier’s grape seed extract are indeed beneficial to vascular health. Specifically, it is the compounds in this extract known as flavanols that provide a multitude of benefits to blood vessels, including protecting the collagen and elastin fibres that they are composed of. Additionally, these flavanols are known to possess anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which again contribute to vascular health.
