Rumour: Aerobic exercise and resistance training can reduce frailty amongst older adults.

Truth: This is true. In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, researchers found that older adults placed in the experimental group that combined aerobic exercise and resistance training was the most promising in preserving lean muscle mass and bone density. Older adults in this experimental group also scored higher in the Physical Performance Test in comparison to the weight management + aerobic training group, resistance training group and the control group.
