Brain Teaser – September 14

Dr. Jonson was helping his son with his math homework.

He needed to prove that when you add two even numbers you always get an even number (even numbers are numbers that can be divided by 2).
Can you help him to prove it?

See the answer

Answer:

Any even number can be represented in form 2n, where n is an integer number. So let’s consider two even numbers, say, 2m and 2n, where m and n are integers. Then we have 2m + 2n = 2 (m+n). The number 2(m+n) can be divided by 2, therefore, it is even. Hence, the sum of any two even numbers is an even number.
